| ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure time reception and warm welcome of new Job Corps students' arrivals by providing a well rounded and highly structured program. Prepare each student for successful participation in the Career Development Services System by providing an introduction to Job Corps Center Staff and the roles they plan in students long-term outcomes. Provides a highly structured Career Exploration Program, which assists students in choosing vocational training programs suited to the labor market, the students' interest, capabilities and career goals. Coordinates overall operation of the Center's Career Preparation Plan, provides students with an overview of all Center vocational offerings to include wages, working conditions, training and academic skills required for the vocation, advancement potential and related vocational offerings. Conducts activities and provides information on Job Corps Mission, Career Development Services System, basic schedule or training and activities, assessment testing, student progress evaluation, student rights and responsibilities, student government and leadership programs and student benefits, Center and community life, health and wellness services and safety and security. Provide new arrivals with a copy of the Student Personnel Handbook. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Vocational Counseling in a related field with three years of teaching or Vocational Counseling experience. One year of Job Corps or related experience working with disadvantaged youth is preferred.
