| ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans and implements a health/physical education curriculum that is innovative and creative that address student learning styles and needs and incorporates individualized, paired and group health/physical education learning experiences for students. Develops, promotes, and plans programs which initiates physical activities as an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Plans physical activities and programs that improve the health within the class. Schedules activities and programs that improve the health within the class. Schedules activities such as field trips to fitness centers, health fairs that promote fitness, wellness and applied exercise. Strives to achieved Center and departmental goals, and helps the Center meet targeted standards in terms of Performance Measurement Standards. Conducts class in compliance with Policy and Requirements Handbook, Technical Assistance Guides, Corporate Standard Operating Procedures, Regional CDSS Plan, Center Operating Procedures, and appropriate Class Course Guides. Obtains and develops resource materials for classroom. Ensures that the required materials and equipment are maintained, inventoried and being properly used. Assists students in developing training programs and ensures follow through. Monitors, evaluates and make assessments of student achievements and records information. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree in Physical Education and two years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organization skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Classroom instruction and curriculum development.
