ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate and assist each student as the need arises. Promote a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum learning. Follows accountability procedures and counsels students regarding the importance of class attendance. Strives to achieve Center and departmental goals, and helps the Center meet targeted standards in terms of Performance Measurement Standards. Conducts class in compliance with Policy and Requirements Handbook, Technical Assistance Guides, Corporate Standard Operating Procedures, Center Operating Procedures and appropriate Class Course Guides. Ensures that all required materials and equipment are maintained, inventoried, and being used correctly. Maintains and secures classrooms, storage areas, materials and equipment. Provides employability and social skills, diversity training, and conflict resolution training to students during the Career Development Period. Arranges classroom to facilitate easy access to materials, student work folders, class information and supplies. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree in Education and two years of teaching experience is required, preferably at the secondary level. Concentration in Secondary or Adult Education is preferred. Advance degree highly desirable. Experience with at risk or culturally deprived youth is highly preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organization skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Classroom instruction and curriculum development. Ability to interpret data and analyze its use within educational programs.
